Take a  nostalgic journey around the pubs of Takeley. This booklet by Bill Marshall attempts to document in words and pictures  all the pubs and beer houses, past and present, within a roughly 2 mile radius of the Four Ashes crossroads.  

This booklet has over 50 old photographs covering some 25 different properties, some of which may well come as a surprise even to those who know the area well. One thing they all have in common, at some time or other you could enjoy a pint of beer there.
