This booklet, written by Bill Marshall, tells the history of this central area of Takeley where the old Roman Stane Street crosses the north/south road from Thaxted to Hatfield Broad Oak and beyond that London. The history of the houses, businesses and the Railway are included. This was Bill's last book before his death in 2008. He is missed by all.
